Vista Operating System

Microsoft has dominated the computing world for the last 3 decades and has been the sole force in the market when it came to operating systems. Microsoft is not the only company that makes operating systems. Sun Microsystems does and so does Apple Computers (Mac OSX). But time and time again Microsoft has proven its market dominance by such products as Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, the wildly popular Windows 2000, even more popular Windows XP and finally Vista Operating System. The beloved XP was a huge hit but it had its share of critics due to its initial incompatibility issues with many legacy hardware and also due to its security flaws. But Microsoft worked hard and listened to its customers and the result was the Vista Operating System, otherwise known as Windows Vista.

Build on the platform of the previously successful Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the Vista Operating System ranks high and competes with the Apple OSX in terms of graphic GUI, security and overall performance (the MAC OSX, built on a Linux platform was secretly considered a more superior operating system). The Microsoft Vista Operating System is a technological milestone and Microsoft basically packed its best punch in this one. Stunning graphic displays, interactivity and unparalleled security features and controls, Vista has come close to being the ultimate OS of the century.

Vista Operating System is not without critics. Many users report the same migration problems they encountered when moving from Windows 98 to XP. There are hardware issues, with some people reporting being suddenly unable to use certain hardware components of their PC such as the DVD-Rom. More users also reported being asked to re-download a variety of drivers in order for their PC to at least work the way it did before the migration. The Vista Operating System has also been blamed for causing computer freezes, consuming too much memory to such an extent as to render system with the reasonable 512MB of memory unusable unless they upgrades to many many more headaches. Vista is also a nightmare to laptop battery life.

A plus with the Vista Operating System is the ease in detecting virtual networks, great wizards that walk you practically through anything and an in-built zip utility that can zip and unzip many files easily. The Vista Operating System users also report power reduction costs while enjoying great computing quality.
